Professional Trainer Program

Abacus and Mental Arithmetic Professional Trainers Program

1. One of PAMA's s missions is to bring abacus and mental arithmetic education to more countries around the world. The best way to do that to provide professional training to teachers who are looking to join this field. Although PAMA Secretariat has several teams of trainers on staff, we hope there are more trainers with professional knowledge and skills that can offer training to more teachers around the world. Ultimately, we want to create more opportunities for aspiring teachers of abacus and mental arithmetic. Therefore, the Secretariat has decided to introduce the Professional Trainers Program. Only candidates who meet our strict standards will be certified. We hope that we can bring high-level education to more students around the world.

2. There are three certifications for professional trainers:

(A) Abacus Master

(B) Abacus Doctor

(C) Abacus Professor 

 

(A) Abacus Master

(1) Complete the Three-Star Instructor Certification (Level 3 Abacus and Level 6 Mental Arithmetic)

(2) Complete 10 instruction demonstration questions from the One-Star Certification Level

(3) Purchase the licenses of at least 10 books from PAMA Workbook Series

(4) Submit an essay of at least 500 words and receive an approval rating. The thesis of the essay can be classroom experience, instruction methodology, education research or other topics related to abacus and mental arithmetic

(5) Candidates must either be a representative from a member company or referred by a member company.

(6) The member company must have 500 PAMA certification exams accumulated

(7) Complete the third phase instructor training and Three-Star training course in Taiwan (held every August). Complete the Abacus Master Exam and Certification

(8) Upon receiving the Abacus Master Certificate, candidates are eligible to deliver first phase training course in their native countries and other countries. Trainers can collect training fees. After each training session, submit the exam results of attendees and demonstration question video to the Secretariat. The Secretariat will issue the One-Star certificates afterward

(9) All the revenue from the training sessions goes to the trainers. The Secretariat only charges the administrative and management fee of $30 US per certificate

(10) It is strongly suggested that members invite the Secretariat's trainers for demonstration in their first training session of any level. This will provide better understanding and sharing of experience with the training course. 

 

(B) Abacus Doctor

(1) Candidates must have Abacus Master qualification for over TWO year and deliver at least three first-level training sessions to more than 100 teachers combined, before they are eligible for Abacus Doctor Certification.

(2) Complete the Four-Star Instructor Certification (Level 1 Abacus and Level 4 Mental Arithmetic)

(3) Complete 10 instruction demonstration questions from the Two-Star Certification Level

(4) Purchase the licenses of at least 20 books from PAMA Workbook Series

(5) Submit an essay of at least 1000 words and receive an approval rating. The thesis of the essay can be classroom experience, instruction methodology, education research or other topics related to abacus and mental arithmetic

(6) Candidates must either be a representative from a member company or referred by a member company.

(7) The member company must have 1000 PAMA certification exams accumulated

(8) Complete the fourth phase instructor training and Four-Star training course. Complete the Abacus Doctor Exam and Certification

(9) Upon receiving the Abacus Doctor Certificate, candidates are eligible to deliver second phase training course in their native countries and other countries. Trainers can collect training fees. After each training session, submit the exam results of attendees and demonstration question video to the Secretariat. The Secretariat will issue the Two-Star certificates afterward

(10) All the revenue from the training sessions goes to the trainers. The Secretariat only charges the administrative and management fee of $40 US per certificate

(11) It is strongly suggested that members invite the Secretariat's trainers for demonstration in their first training session of any level. This will provide better understanding and sharing of experience with the training course

(C) Abacus Professor

(1) Candidates must have Abacus Doctor qualification for over TWO year and deliver at least three second level training sessions to more than 100 teachers combined, before they are eligible for Abacus Doctor Certification.

(2) Complete the Five-Star Instructor Certification (Advanced Level 3 Abacus and Level 1 Mental Arithmetic)

(3) Complete 10 instruction demonstration questions from the Three-Star Certification Level

(4) Purchase the licenses of at least 30 books from PAMA Workbook Series

(5) Submit an essay of at least 2000 words and receive an approval rating.

(8) Complete the Five-Star training course. Complete the Abacus Professor Exam and Certification

(9) Upon receiving the Abacus Doctor Certificate, candidates are eligible to deliver third phase training course in their native countries and other countries. Trainers can collect training fees. After each training session, submit the exam results of attendees and demonstration question video to the Secretariat. The Secretariat will issue the Three-Star certificates afterward

(10) All the revenue from the training sessions goes to the trainers. The Secretariat only charges the administrative and management fee of $50 US per certificate

(11) It is strongly suggested that members invite the Secretariat's trainers for demonstration in their first training session of any level. This will provide better understanding and sharing of experience with the training course 

 

3. Four-star and five-star certifications are only conducted by the Secretariat directly. They can be obtained by attending a training session hosted by the Secretariat in training in Taiwan or in other countries. The Secretariat charges the administrative and management fee of $100 US per certificate

4. There can be multiple professional trainers from the same company. The qualifications and conditions are the same and each individual trainer must meet these requirements

5. PAMA’s Abacus and Mental Arithmetic Professional Trainer Program will launch in 2021
