How instructor training works — level eligibility, fees, and certification. Attend a course in Taiwan, or invite the Secretariat to run a session in your own country.

Attend the training in Taiwan

Four levels of courses, each twenty hours over three days (seven hours a day). Levels build on one another, with eligibility tied to prior training, certification, or a chairperson’s referral.

1

Level 1

Open to all instructors — from PAMA members, potential members, and interested parties outside the organisation.

2

Level 2

Open to instructors from PAMA members and potential members. Parties that have not applied for membership are not accepted.

3

Level 3

Instructors from PAMA members who meet one of: completed Levels 1 and 2; hold PAMA Intermediate Instructor Certification; or receive a direct referral from a PAMA chairperson.

4

Level 4

Instructors from PAMA members who meet one of: completed Levels 1, 2 and 3; hold PAMA Advanced Instructor Certification; or receive a direct referral from a PAMA chairperson.

Fees

US$1,000 per person, per level. Optional accommodation, meals, and transport in Taiwan (five days, four nights) run US$600–650 per person.

On completion

Two certificates — a Certificate of Training, plus an Instructor Certification (one of the four levels) and Exam Certification (Level 8, 6, 4 or 2). Attendees also learn course planning and how to use the teaching materials.

Invite the Secretariat

A member can invite the Secretariat to host a training session in its own country. At least twenty teachers are recommended, and the organiser collects the training fees from attendees.

Plan one training course (three days) or two courses (six days) per visit.

The organiser covers the full cost of two trainers — flights (premium economy class or above), accommodation, meals, and transport. The Secretariat provides the flight itinerary as proof of purchase.

Training fee per three-day course: US$6,000 for fewer than 30 attendees, or US$8,000 for 30 or more. The fee is unchanged if two courses are run.

A member may request a specific level, or a combination of two courses; the Secretariat balances the content. New members and first-time organisers are advised to begin with the Level 1 course.

Other costs to budget for: venue rental, interpreter, printing of materials, and other preparations.

Contact the Secretariat at least four months before the training date. Once an agreement is reached, the Secretariat arranges the trainers’ travel.

The Secretariat has three teams of trainers, each with more than twenty years of experience and highly regarded in the field.

The organiser may add an activity day alongside the training — a local competition, exam, press conference, parent Q&A, or business-strategy discussion. Trainers give feedback, at no additional fee.

As with the Taiwan courses, every attendee receives two certificates — a Certificate of Training, plus an Instructor Certification (one of the four levels) and Exam Certification (Level 8, 6, 4 or 2).
