PAMA members are abacus and mental arithmetic schools that teach to one syllabus, run one certification exam and meet at one international competition each year.

Membership is for established schools and companies. See the four requirements below.

Ask anything about fees, exams or training before you apply. Fees are paid by wire transfer.

Who can join
- Your organisation has been operating for at least five years.
- You teach at least 300 students.
- You hold a legal business licence in your country.
- PAMA has no member in your country yet. Each member is PAMA’s sole representative in its country.
As a member you also
- Run at least 500 PAMA certification exams a year. Abacus and mental arithmetic exams both count.
- Send at least five students to the International Competition each year.
- Admit other schools in your country that want to take the PAMA exam or compete.
Membership runs from 1 January to 31 December. The certificate is renewed each year and presented at the PAMA International Competition.

- Prorated by the months left if you join mid-year.
Admission and membership fees are not refundable.
What membership includes
- Your chairperson, or one staff member you choose, trains with the Secretariat as your professional trainer and earns the three-star instructor certificate.
- You set your own registration fee for PAMA certification exams, send PAMA its exam fees and keep the rest.
- All your instructors attend the PAMA Online Symposium free.
- You can send your best students to the PAMA International Competition, held in a different country each year.
- Paid services: instructor training at every level, professional instructor certificates ($30 one-star to $60 four-star), 65 workbooks and 30 instruction videos.
