Introduction - contestant I-Hong, Kou from Taiwan

December 27, 2013

I-Hong, Kou, student of PAMA Global Taiwan has been learning abacus for 12 years. He is 16 years old now and studies at the best high school in Taipei. Because of his hard working, his abacus level is now reached advance 9 for abacus arithmetic and advance 10 for mental arithmetic. In the past years, he has got tremendous awarding records, such as, 2nd runner up of PAMA Global 5th & 6th competition; Champion of PAMA Global 8th, 9th, 11th, & 13th competitions; Champion of Champion of PAMA Global 7th, 12th, & 14th competition. When asks him how he did to reach such excellent outcome, he likes to share his learning experience with all of us. I-Hong says "Champion of champions - Every contestant wants to get it. Sometimes it is close to us, but sometimes not. Only one person would have the honor. Anything I could prepare before the competitions is practice. Practice makes perfection. But in the competitions, I had to handle uncertainty. Also, it was hard to overcome nervous, so it wasn’t easy tp perform perfectly. I had taken compatitionsmany times. I always hopes to get good grades, but several times I didn't reach my expectation. Therefore, I was in touched and had very complicated feelings when getting the champion of champions. I have learnt abacus and mental math for twelve years. Thanksto this, I got some fantastic experience and friendship. Sometimes my classmates asked me:「Are there any tips?」 But there’s no royal road or miracle in this skill. Only practicing with willpower and patience would make better grades. Don’t set limitations, just surmount it."
